The beautiful Andaman and Nicobar island located in Bay of Bengal region is a union territory of India. It is made up of 527 island comprising both small and large one. Of them only 38 island are inhabited by the human population and rest are barren. The coastline of this island is around 100 kms and major portion of area is covered with dense forests. The total area of island are around 8,293 square kilometers. Two major group of island here are Andaman and Nicobar. Port Blair is the capital of this union territory. Andaman and Nicobar came to prominence during British rule. British had established their rule over this island in the year 1858.

They built prisons in the island and began to send many convicts from India and Burma to Andaman. Many Indian freedom fighters were put in ship and sent to these jails. These island has significant value in the history of India freedom struggle. In the year 1943 Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose landed here and hoisted flag of Indian independence which inspired many people to dream of independent India. These islands are mostly inhabited by tribal people. Five of the most primitive tribal group are found in the island of Andaman and Nicobar. They are great Andamanese of Strait Island, Onges of Little Andaman, Sentinelese of Sentinel islands and Shompens of Great Nicobar.

Andaman and Nicobar island are natures haven. The entire island is laced with untouched natural beauty. Sensuous beaches, green forests, clean environment and fresh air are the highlight of these enigmatic islands. The waters of Bay of Bengal and tropical rain forest which has engulfed major part of island are home to different species of plant, animal and marine life. Havelock Island: Situated 38 km away from Port Blair, this island is stunningly beautiful. The clear sea and white sand accompany you in Havelock island. Beach no.7 is the most prettiest of all in this island. This beach is still unexplored and is few of those remaining beaches to be untouched by human. It's a great place for water sports activities like swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing and jungle trekking

Barren Island: This is a land of volcano and is the only active volcano of India. Last time a volcano erupted here was on May 28,2005. Visitors can see these volcano from distance on board of ship or boat.

Rangat: This is the best place to enjoy silent village life in the company of virgin nature. The fresh air and green forests will have a soothing effect on you. Cubert Bay beach which is 20 km away from Rangat is famous for turtle nesting ground. Period from December to February is the best time to watch nestling of turtles.
